Our Women's Health Nurse also performs the role of Child and Family Health (CFH) Nurse and works in 16 locations across the SE Section. She sees over 400 clinic patients annually. Working in cooperation with midwifery services and a wide range of other health providers, she offers a comprehensive health service to childbearing women and their families including:

health surveillance of infants and children

counselling and support for parents and carers

management of child behavioural problems

nutrition counselling

referral to relevant specialists
From literacy programs (set up in cooperation with the Department of Education) to implementing healthy eating practices (in line with the NSW Health Childhood Obesity Prevention Strategy) to collaboration with the Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation on a Healthy Start program for infants to five year olds, our CFH Nurse brings a wide range of skills and support to the children and families of the Bush.
