Organising an event is a great way to raise vital funds for the Flying Doctor!
Every year hundreds of supporters organise events on our behalf and raise thousands of dollars to help keep us flying!
They also help raise the profile of the Flying Doctor in their local community.
Getting permission to fundraise from the Flying Doctor is a simple but important step for event organisers. Click here to download the Flying Doctor's fundraising guidelines and application form.
It is extremely important to get authorisation before holding a fundraising event for the Flying Doctor. It is a requirement of the Charitable Fundraising Act of 1991. The legislation requires that any person or organisation fundraising on behalf of the RFDS has written permission from the Service.
If third party fundraising events are held without the permission of the Flying Doctor, our authority to fundraise could be revoked. This would have devastating consequences for the work of the Service, and the people of Outback Australia.
The RFDS also needs to know about all activities conducted on our behalf to ensure that they are consistent with our values. Some fundraising activities are not appropriate for the Flying Doctor to be associated with, and we need to make sure our reputation is maintained.
Your fundraising event will also help to raise the profile of the RFDS. By following these guidelines, you will help to ensure the good name of the Flying Doctors is upheld in the community.
We wish to sincerely thank the many individuals and organisations who have raised valuable funds for us each year.
