Our annual Plane Crazy Day event took place on Friday, 16 May. Schools from all over New South Wales, the ACT and Tasmania took part in this Flying Doctors primary school education and fundraising event.
Students and staff were invited to dress in their ‘plain craziest’ clothes and make a gold coin donation to help raise funds to purchase vital medical equipment for the Flying Doctor.
The RFDS would like to thank all of the students, staff and volunteers who helped to make this day such a success. Special thanks to St Ives Primary School for their efforts in arranging a Paper Plane Flight for the entire school and to volunteer speaker Mary Bentley for her time.
We've loved seeing the pics you sent in to us. They were especially good this year and it has been SO hard choosing a winner. In the end we selected Mingoola Public School as this year's winner. Principal Tonya Worling and the 20 children who attend the school really went to town, and a special thanks to the Yr 1 boy who was prepared to wear his underpants on the outside!
FUJIFILM donated a FinePix F100fd
digital camera which will be sent to Mingoola Public School as the winners of the 'craziest’ photo.
We're still counting the money raised and we'll let you know what the total is as soon as we can.
Thank you to all of the students, teachers and families who help to make Plane Crazy a great success and thanks again to Fuji for the first prize.
