Since the Flying Doctor was formed in 1928, the need for our service has grown by leaps and bounds. In addition to emergency aerial evacuations and patient transport, we now deliver comprehensive primary healthcare to residents of remote and regional Australia where medical care is not readily available. And we provide this service free of charge.
Annually, we treat nearly 240,000 patients across the country. Each year, approximately 32,000 patients attend clinics run by the SE Section. Our medical teams conduct over 3,407 clinics each year at homesteads, out-stations, mines, pubs and even under aircraft wings!
