Qualifications
In addition to meeting all Australian government requirements for work within Australia, all applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

total command time – 3,000 hours minimum

total night hours – 500 hours minimum

total multi-engine command – 500 hours minimum
- number of instrument rating renewals – five
Highly recommended
- turbo-prop experience
- over 5,000 hours of flying experience
- excellent communication skills
- empathy for the bush and its people
- a commitment to the ideals of the RFDS
