Share your good fortune by donating to charity through ShareGift Australia
ShareGift Australia is a new not-for-profit organisation created to encourage Australian shareholders to sell their shares and donate the proceeds to charity without paying brokerage fees.
This is a completely free service and it’s easy to make use of your unwanted shares by donating them to ShareGift Australia. ShareGift then distributes the proceeds to Australian charities holding deductible gift recipient status.
All you need to do is complete a ShareGift donation form recommending Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) as a beneficiary of distributions and return it to the ShareGift offices. The Board ofShareGift considers these recommendations and has sole discretion to determine which charity will receive any cash donation and the amount and timing of such gift.
Once your shares are sold, you will receive a notification letter with details of your share sale so that you can receive a tax deduction for your donation. Shares held in any Australian publicly listed companies may be sold and there is no limit to the number of shares that can be sold without brokerage costs – where the proceeds are directed to ShareGift.
Since the launch of ShareGift last July, over $30,000 has been donated to 35 charities across Australia.

Donors can claim a tax deduction on gifts over $2.00 to ShareGift Australia.
