Virtual Flight for charity
World Flight Australia, a ‘virtual’ round the world flight, have been supporters of the RFDS since 2002. Each year they conduct a virtual world flight in a full scale B747-400 simulator and proceeds from tickets sold on the simulator are donated to the Flying Doctor.
This year a record amount has been raised since the first World Flight in 2001 and at the Bankstown Open day on Sunday May 18, Terry Scanlan presented a cheque for $16,000 to the RFDS. In 2007 World Flight Australia added another team from Hobart to the group and their fundraising efforts helped them achieve this amazing result.
The RFDS sincerely thanks World Flight Australia, Terry Scanlan and the rest of the team for their incredible support. We also thank Matt Sheil, owner and developer of the 747-400 simulator for donating a flight ticket which was used as a raffle prize on Open day.
